Danske Bank Mallon Cup semi-finals

St Killian’s Garron Tower 2-10 Lumen Christi Derry 2-3

St Benedict’s Randalstown 1-3 Cross and Passion Ballycastle 0-3

There will be an Antrim derby final for the Danske Bank Mallon Cup after St Killian’s Garron Tower and St Benedict’s Randalstown came through contrasting semi-finals yesterday.

All four goals scored in Glen in the game between St Killian’s and Lumen Christi came during the first half.

Glenariff pair Gabriel Leech and Seanie McIntosh hit the net for the Tower while Jack Breslin and Khyat Bhavisar did the same for Lumen Christi.

However despite the good play of Oisin Duffy and Shea McCaul in the Derry defence, they found it difficult to deal with the strong running of Leech and he added three points to put St Killian’s in at the break 2-5 to 2-2 ahead.

In the second half, the Antrim side closed out the route to goal and eased through with leech bringing his personal tally to 2-5.

In the other semi-final, both defences were totally on top and scores were at a premium.

T Murray scored the key score a goal for St Benedict’s midway through the opening half, while Conleth McKinley hit two points in reply for an interval score-line of 1-1 to 0-2.

There were only three points scored during the second half as St Benedict’s held out for victory and a place in the final against St Killian’s on June 14th.
